Role overview
The Project Manager at Ilkari is tasked with leading the successful delivery of large-scale, complex integration projects aligned with our strategic business objectives, particularly within the context of mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will possess robust project management skills focused on business integration projects. This role requires on-site presence and you will collaborate closely with leadership across legal, finance, procurement, product, engineering, and IT to ensure effective governance and prioritization of initiatives. With a strong emphasis on communication, stakeholder management, and agility, you will drive initiatives forward in a dynamic environment. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Programmes, you will influence key decision-making across the organization.
What you'll do
Governance and Integration Project Oversight.
Ensure appropriate governance is in place for integration projects
Collaborate with key stakeholders to manage the Business Units' portfolio, including prioritisation, tracking, and managing dependencies and capacity constraints.
Oversee change management, ensuring highest priority delivery and maintaining traceability of changes (top-down and bottom-up).
Financial Management
Oversee budgetary accountability with project sponsors and the Programme Director.
Ensure all programmes are fully costed, with clear budget reporting from inception to closure.
Track costs against budget & raise any variances to budget.
Programme and Project Leadership
Lead the delivery of strategic programmes, focusing on acquisitions and business integrations.
Plan and manage end-to-end programmes, establishing milestones and timelines.
Report programme and project status to stakeholders, adapting updates for senior management and the CEO.
Rapidly familiarize yourself with Ilkari’s products and infrastructure to contribute effectively.
Develop a framework for integrations to facilitate future acquisitions & integration projects.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at senior levels, facilitating collaboration across diverse objectives.
Facilitate clear and open communication between cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and effective teamwork.
Present complex technical information in a way that is accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Risk and Issue Management
Apply advanced subject matter expertise to identify, capture, and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions in an organised manner.
Proactively anticipate future problems and develop solutions to address them.
Share location & country relevant risks that could impact the integration project
What we're looking for
Proven experience (preferably +5 years) in managing and leading complex projects in business operations with a strong emphasis on mergers & acquisitions.
Experience working with multiple business units for e.g. procurement, finance, legal, tax, people operations, IT operations etc. in order to deliver complex projects.
Experience managing projects within Data Centre and / or Cloud infrastructure environments is highly desirable.
Strong project management skills with proficiency in technology applications.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels.
Planning and Organization - Proficiency in creating detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Highly organised, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, able to deliver empathetic feedback and present information clearly to diverse audiences.
Negotiation Skills - Ability to negotiate contracts, resources, and project deliverables with stakeholders and vendors.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances, working independently and in teams.
Adaptability - Flexibility to adjust plans and strategies in response to changing project requirements or unforeseen challenges.
Proficient with project management tools (e.g., Atlassian Suite, MS Project, MS Visio).
Experience with waterfall project management & iterative software development
Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Desirable: Knowledge of ITIL, Professional PM qualifications (e.g., PMP, Prince 2, Agile Scrum Master).
