Role overview
The People Generalist at Ilkari plays a key role in delivering comprehensive People services throughout the employee lifecycle. The role is responsible for ensuring seamless People operations across key areas, including performance management, payroll, benefits, immigration, and compliance with employment laws. As a critical ambassador of Ilkari’s values and culture, this role fosters positive relationships with employees and managers, driving operational success through high-quality service in a dynamic work environment.
What you'll do
Employee Life Cycle & HR Support:
- Manage all aspects of the employee life cycle, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring effective delivery of retention, engagement, performance, and career development initiatives.
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to employees and managers on a wide range of HR queries and processes.
- Advise on and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent administration and application.
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
Employment Law, Employee Relations & Compliance:
- Provide expert advice on local employment law and practices, ensuring compliance and legal adherence in all HR matters.
- Support employee relations, handle employee cases, and review people processes to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Manage immigration-related processes and provide support for international mobility.
- Stay updated on relevant HR legislation and best practices, ensuring policies and procedures are compliant.
HR Data & Systems Management:
- Maintain HR documentation and files, ensuring accurate employee records.
- Act as a superuser for HRIS, managing people metrics, generating reports, and leveraging data for decision-making.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations, as well as internal policies.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s health and safety programs.
- Collaborate on training and awareness initiatives on health and safety for employees.
- Collaborate with managers and the Workplace team to maintain a safe, operational and best-practice-aligned work environment.
- Keep H&S records and reports updated for audits and reviews.
People Projects:
- Contribute to People projects and initiatives, supporting the implementation of new HR systems, payroll providers, and employee benefits.
- Provide project management support for various People initiatives, ensuring successful outcomes.
What are we looking for
- Graduate degree with at least five years of People Generalist / HR administration with exposure to HR Advisory experience in a multilingual, diverse environment.
- Strong knowledge of local employment laws and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Proven experience in managing the full employee life cycle.
- Proficiency in HRIS and data analysis, with the ability to generate and interpret people metrics.
- Expertise in handling payroll and benefits administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in complex situations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in relationship-building and managing conflict and change.
