Role overview
As a DevOps Engineer at Ilkari, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure, primarily based on the OpenStack platform. You will play a critical role in ensuring the sovereignty of our clients' data, aligning with our mission to empower enterprises with control over their digital assets. You’ll collaborate across teams to meet business goals efficiently, streamline workflows through automation, and ensure smooth cloud operations.
What you'll do
• Design, deploy, and manage OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure to support our customers workload
• Implement automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and scaling of cloud resources.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment of cloud-based applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define infrastructure requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
• Implement best practices for cloud security, including access control, data encryption, and vulnerability management.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and capacity utilisation, and implement optimisations as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with technologies and industry trends in Cloud computing, DevOps, and OpenStack.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and training purposes.
What are we looking for
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience working with OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure in a DevOps or SysOps role.
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration and shell scripting.
• Experience with orchestration and configuration tools such as Maas, Juju, Ansible and Terraform
• Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and development workflows.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies and practices (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Certifications such as Certified OpenStack Administrator (COA) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) are a plus.
